A Cup of Mountains and Rivers: Ten Thousand Leaves Return as One - Tea Realm is an original immersive Oriental musical poetic drama about tea, memory, family love, healing and dialogue between civilizations.
The story begins in a spiritual world on the edge of collapse: the Tea Realm. Formed from tea mountains, ancient books, fragrant, memory and human love, it preserves humanity's memories of family, homeland, childhood and the first cup of tea. Qingyao, the Mother of the Tea Realm, protects one last glowing tea leaf with the final remnant of her spiritual power, but she is confronted by Wuming, ruler of the Realm of Ashes. Wuming represents the coldest voice within the modern human heart: do not look back, do not remember, do not feel pain; only succeed, only move faster, only keep going forward.
To prove that humanity can still be awakened, Qingyao opens the cracked Tea Mirror and summons Lu Guichen — a successful modern man who travels constantly across the world, yet has long sealed away the memories of his childhood and family love. To him, tea is not merely a drink, but a wound he dares not touch; deep within that wound is the grandmother who once made tea for him and waited for him to come home.
Guided by Qingyao and Xiaozhan, Lu Guichen journeys through the realms of green tea, jasmine tea, white tea, yellow tea, oolong tea, rock tea, red tea and dark tea. Each tea becomes a revelation of life: first sprouting, fragrance, silence, warmth within, wandering, inner strength, sweetness after bitterness and the depth of time. As the fragrance of tea unfolds, he finally remembers the cup of tea in the courtyard of his childhood, and the person he lost while chasing distance and success.
