Set sail on a culinary journey through the Pacific as we celebrate Metita’s first birthday with an unforgettable evening of food and culture. For this special event, award-winning chef Michael Meredith joins forces with the pioneer of Pacific Rim cuisine, Peter Gordon, to craft a menu that honours the traditions of the Pacific while pushing the boundaries of modern cuisine. 

This is more than just a dinner—it’s a celebration of heritage, flavours, and the legacy that Peter Gordon has built over the years. Michael Meredith, who has long admired Peter’s revolutionary work with Polynesian cuisine is excited to bring him back for this one-night-only event at Metita.

Together, they will create a multi-course menu that blends traditional Pacific flavours with innovative techniques, offering a dining experience that both delights and entertains. Guests will enjoy a signature Pacific cocktail on arrival, followed by four courses with each dish telling a story of Pacific heritage.

Peter Gordon, reflecting on the upcoming collaboration, shared, “When Michael asked me to help celebrate Metita’s first birthday, I said yes immediately. The meal I ate there recently was fantastic, I love how he is working with Pacific flavours and ingredients and supporting producers – something that was central to our mission at Homeland. It’s also special to me that Metita occupies the space where I opened my first SkyCity restaurant, Dine by Peter Gordon, nearly 20 years ago. I’m excited to be back and working alongside Michael and his team to celebrate the Pacific in the best way we know—through kai”
