Golden Hour 2026 at SkyCity Auckland

As the sun begins to set and the day winds down, the city's bathed in that perfect golden light. From 1 March to 30 April, Golden Hour returns — our invitation to make early evenings something special across our award-winning restaurants.

Whether you're catching up with friends over shared plates, treating yourself after work, or simply making the most of those long summer nights, we've created the perfect excuse to gather around a table this season.

Settle in for the first sitting as the sun casts its golden glow. Enjoy a signature main and dessert at some of Auckland's most celebrated restaurants including The Grill, MASU by Nic Watt, Metita, Cassia and Huami.

The Grill

Daily, 5–6pm · Bookings required

$70pp Three course set menu (min. 2 people)

Start with Mt Cook salmon crudo, followed by your choice of seasonal ravioli, angus flat iron steak with garlic butter, or the fish of the day, with a side of triple cooked beef fat potatoes to share.

Huami

Wednesday – Sunday, 5:30pm – 6pm

$60pp Two course set menu (min. 2 people)

Go behind the red doors on Federal Street, and indulge in our signature tabasco prawns and our iconic fruitwood-roasted Peking duck with pancakes to share, followed by a whisper of citrus dessert each, with mascarpone cheesecake and lemon sorbet to finish.

Metita

Tuesday – Saturday, 5pm – 6pm · Bookings recommended

$50pp Two course set menu (min. 2 people)

Journey through the Pacific with your choice of main including roasted chicken leg, wood fired snapper with umala and turmeric, or smoked potato and tarua gratin, followed by our Pasifik koko, or passionfruit dessert.

MASU by Nic Watt

Daily, 5pm – 6pm · Bookings recommended

$55pp Two course set menu (min. 2 people)

Nic Watt presents his award-winning take on Japanese taste sensations. Start with chef's sashimi selection and a nori taco maki, then your choice of teriyaki king salmon, pork belly or lamb rack, served with rice and furikake.

Cassia

Tuesday – Saturday, 5pm – 6pm · Bookings recommended

Place yourself in Chef Sid Sahrawat's hands for an evening of discovery. A curated menu as a journey through India, from long-loved favourites to new seasonal creations, served over three courses, with a few culinary surprises along the way.

Snacks from 4–6pm

Light bites, cold drinks, and that perfect pre-dinner glow. Small plates designed for sharing, and the Friday feeling every day of the week. Pop in after work, stay for a bite and a drink, and let the evening take shape from there.

Brought to you by 1800 Tequila — add our signature Golden Margarita to your snack menu for $19 during Golden Hour. 1800 Silver Tequila, golden kiwifruit, lime, honey and jalapeño spice.

Huami

Wednesday – Sunday, 4pm – 5:30pm

$50 Shared platter

Start the evening with a selection of dim sum and dumplings, including Shanghai xiao long bao, XO chilli siew mai, squid ink and prawn dumplings and pan-fried leek and pork dumplings. Soak in the afternoon glow by the bar, or dine amongst the garden.

Metita

Metita Lobby · Tuesday – Saturday, 4–6pm

Snack Bites

Travel around the islands as the sun begins to set, with our iconic corned beef bun, Samoan panikeke, and fried pork belly with spiced caramel and shiso leaf. Perfect bites for pre-dinner drinks.

Cassia

Catch the afternoon glow with a selection of signature snacks including prawn toast, goat cheese pao, spiced lamb taco and a curated beverage list to match.

Pick your flavour - enjoy our signature golden margarita, a Magenta margarita with lychee and dragon fruit, or our Green Margarita with cucumber and elderflower. Best enjoyed the fleeting golden light at 182m high.

Kiwi Classics

Enjoy kiwi classics at the change of light — the perfect time for buffalo fried oysters, Regal King Salmon tartare, or wood-fired green-lip mussels with nori and miso butter. Designed to be shared and enjoyed, every day of the week.

Bar Bites & Drinks

Settle in at Onyx in Horizon by SkyCity and enjoy a Golden Margarita, with bar bites and snacks. Perfect for post-work drinks, or a light bite before dinner.
