Bring the family, bring your friends and most importantly, bring your appetite for a night full of flavours, fun and festivities. Delicious food awaits you under the Sky Tower at SkyCity’s Matariki Night Markets! With many different Māori and Pasifika food stalls to choose from, this will be sure to please. From savoury to sweet, our diverse food stalls will have something for everyone. Feel the vibes and enjoy the atmosphere with a live DJ playing as you eat!

Our Sky Tower will luminate in synergy with the appearance of Matariki, welcoming in the new year. Rising 28 June, setting 6 July. Look to the sky for a colourful light display over this period.

Matariki Tours at Wētā Workshop Unleashed

Our exclusive Twilight Tours return on Matariki weekend from 29 June to 28 September with late night opening on Saturdays. Immerse yourself in our interactive movie making experience for an evening out with a difference this winter, where you can play, connect and be inspired. Twilight Tours run 5.30pm and 6.30pm.

Dr Valance Smith is a dedicated advocate for contemporary Māori music and its vital role in promoting te reo Māori. With a PhD that explores the profound impact of contemporary Māori music this has deepened his understanding and appreciation of Māori music as a performer and composer, blending traditional Māori elements with contemporary influences.

Born and raised in South Auckland Manurewa and Northland's Kaikohe, Māori-Samoan Singer-Songwriter and Producer Mahaani Maiava brings to you his sweet and ruff style of Soul, Hiphop, and Roots music.
